Abel Gerard Law

Abel Gerard Law

Facilitator: Debate, Public Speaking and Drama

After graduating with a 1st Class (Honours) degree in Law from the University College of London, Abel decided to make his Asian Parents' greatest fear come true: NOT becoming a lawyer.

Ever since he was four years old, Abel and Performing have always been synonymous. He starred in many musical productions whilst being in Malaysia, namely the Lion King (Simba), Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat (Joseph), Return of the Glass Slipper (Prince Albert) and the Christmas Shoes (Robert).

Whilst pursuing his degree in London, Abel copped with the pressure of Law School by performing in many Student-led as well as semi-professional productions, such as Rent (Collins), Sweeney Todd (Pirelli), Songs for a New World (Man 1), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II), Into the Woods (Prince Charming), Sweet Charity (Daddy Brubeck) and High School Musical (Zeke). He also performed for Sir Tim Rice, composer of works like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King, for the West-End revival of From Here to Eternity.

Besides singing and acting, Abel has also dabbled in Debating, being crowned the 3rd best high school debater in Asia in 2015. He has gone on to coach many national debating champions both in Malaysia as well as in the UK, where he was the President of the Debating Society in UCL.
