Arief is a theatre practitioner, speech coach, English teacher, and law graduate. Since his start with the Theatre For Young People programme at klpac in 2012, he has directed, acted in, and written for over twenty productions nationwide. Some of his notable works include The Dumb Waiter (2013), FOURPLAY (2014) Othello (2015), Madu Dua (2016), and Shakespeare’s R+J (2016). In 2014, he founded The Classroom Project, a university arts initiative devoted to creating an interdependent arts community among university students across Malaysia.

 

He has also been teaching speech and drama for four years, working in that time as a presenter coach for TEDxKL, TEDxYouth@KL, and the Khazanah Megatrends Forum, among others. Apart from that, he has run numerous theatre and speaking workshops nationwide, including a four-day theatre camp for over 50 MRSMs in late 2016. He now facilitates classes under the umbrella of Blubricks for English, Creative Writing, Public Speaking, Speech & Drama and Debate.
